"We're So Sorry We've Been Gone"

These posts with the title "We're So Sorry We've Been Gone" will be dedicated to the ongoing mystery of Panic! at the Disco's new album. Here's what I know so far:
  • The album will come out March 25, 2008
  • The first single is "Nine In the Afternoon"
  • "Nine In the Afternoon" is due out the first of January, 2008
  • The video for "Nine In the Afternoon" has been/is being filmed.
  • The creator of their WEBSITE wishes us Happy Holidays and wonders if we care for some hors d'oeuvre.
  • Brendon is still the lead singer (see the shaded puzzle pieces)
  • The album titled has not been released, but it is believed to be "You Don't Have to Worry..."
  • Here are several titles of the "confirmed" songs off the yet-untitled album: Things Have Changed, Nine In the Afternoon, Middle of Summer
That's all I got for you for today. Let's wait together for the next update on the website, shall we?

Oh, It's Been So Long

I really haven't felt like posting in awhile. So I didn't. But now, I've decided that you people need to be informed of my life and times. Which really aren't as exciting as you may think.
Jon has come and gone, and I don't remember exactly what I got, but I'll post a list, based on the pictures we have.
  • Guitar Hero III for PlayStation2 (YAY! Guess what I've been doing since I got it?)
  • Moccasins/Slippers
  • A Wii (This was from "Santa" for the Whole Family)
  • Warm Vanilla Sugar B&BW Set
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Movie)
  • A Nintendo DS Game
  • Some Boots that don't fit me (Anyone where a 7 1/2?)
  • Headphones
  • My magazine subscription to Entertainment Weekly
  • iTunes Gift Card - $15
  • House M.D. Season Three (!)
  • Gloves
  • An iHome Remote (Too bad it doesn't work from large distances.)
  • Two Sweaters
  • A Giant TV Remote (This was a white elephant gift, but I LOVE it)
  • A Mini-Converse ornament
Our family Christmas party was O.K. It will further be known by me as "The Tragic Christmas," because my Grandma wrote this letter to all her children and it was very touching and everyone cried. Then we started talking about my Grandpa (her husband, who has died) and it was all great. We went to the candlelight service at my church after the party and it was very...illuminating?

Not much else has happened since then. Alissa spent the night and we tried to find Monsters on Guitar Hero...for 5 hours. Ask about Moby and Dick sometime. Zoey came over and we went sledding and found Jared on "100 Greatest Teen Stars." We're going to a New Year's Eve party up in Marion at a friend's (Peg and Scott) on Monday. There will be lots of drinking, but not by me. Though everyone will encourage it. You might hear about it. Maybe I'll get back to you.

Well I haven't showered lately, so see ya! (Sheesh, Melanie, just because you don't have to go to school doesn't mean you can let yourself go...) Oh, and I have to go check out Barely Blind? Strange E-Mails these days...

P.S. What's going on with the poll?!? PEOPLE! THIS IS IMPORTANT! (Thank you Maddy and Alissa...)
P.S.S. There'll probably be some pictures of all these events...eventually.

Put Down the Camera, Choke on the Drama

I got a kick out of this. I hope you all can read it.

I suppose that I should delve into how my B-day party went, but most of you who were there read this blog, so I'll just forget it. But I did get amazing gifts! Thank you guys! The Hot Topic gift card has been well-spent on Put Up or Shut Up and an MCR shirt (my mom endured a good long time in there, I'm proud). I'm pretty much jamming out to So Wrong, It's Right, and have been obsessive-compulsively looking at All Time Low pictures for the past several hours. My Magic Band Book is sitting open while I wait for a good song to buy with my iTunes gift card. Good times, but you guys really need to learn how to shut up. Hard-core Sardines and hide-and-go-seek are annual birthday games. I can stop talking about my birthday now, since both parties have been fulfilled. Tomorrow's our Jon party at my aunt's house. Yay, white elephant gifts! So I'll have more to talk about after that. And then of course our Christmas presents lingering under the Jon tree (I have 9, by the way. Me and my sister just counted).

I found this amazing blog while looking for pictures (don't ask), and it made mine look like a piece of junk that a hobo would wipe his butt with. And that's bad. I'll close for now, I don't feel like writing any more...

But I got a book!

Eyes Shine Suicide

My birthday has come and gone, so I can stop that godforsaken countdown. I've also stopped counting my presents, so we can just be done with all that... But back to my birthday. On Tuesday (the day of), most of our family here in town came to our house. I got a nice chunk of cash from them, and intend to spend it on whatever I don't get that I wanted for Jon. But that requires waiting. *sigh* They all encouraged me to drink. As in drink alcohol. But not even those fancy and (as I would only assume), tasty fruit wine coolers, or even beer. Tequila shots (don't ask where that came from; something about Yolanda and an oven). The whole salt/tequila/lemon thing. Bunch of alcoholics... I also got my Andrew pants (you'd understand if you knew), and an Anberlin t-shirt which I happen to LOVE. I think I love the pants more. They also look nice together. My grandma in Arizona sent me a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card that will be no more after this evening when me and Alissa go to B&N, (watch out Kevin, here we come!).

Semester tests started on Wednesday (except for my gym one), and thank god they're done now. I just checked ParentView, and this is what it says I got:

Accelerated English I: A, 98.4% or 120/122 (This brought my grade up to an A. YAY!)
Web Page Design: -not on ParentView-
Algebra I: A, 95.5% or 64/67 (Yay! Melanie didn't fail Algebra, unlike her father...)
Individual/Dual Sports: C, 82.9% or 20/25 on Cario Test and 48/57 on Written (These scores were combined.)
Physical Science: A, 98.6% or 90/93
Play Productions I: A, 96.0% or 480/500 (This was my model. Thank GOD. I thought I did horrible.)

So I passed every class this semester. Hooray! Wow, and I actually passed with straight A's. I'm sure my mother is proud...

There'll be more to come after my party w/ the friends tomorrow. Merry Jon break!

P.S. Christmas letters suck and pictures of all these things will be posted once I get the pix uploaded.

The People Inside

My deepest regrets for not posting in *checks* almost a week. I've been quite busy with things like my hero project (blach), my model (more blech), other homework and...other things. I can't quite remember the past days, so I won't go into what non-interesting things happened to me. I did go birthday shopping with my aunt, perform at my piano recital and play one of the three wisemen in our church program with two fifth grade boys. AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWKKKKKKK - WARD. But other than that, no. Nothing much.

I'm pretty much stressed over semester tests. Today I took my first one for gym. IT WAS THE MOST AWFUL THING I'VE DONE SINCE THE TOWER OF TERROR AT WALT DISNEY WORLD! We had to run 25 laps in 12 minutes. For those of you who know me, Melanie does not run half a mile in her free time. Maybe at least four, but... So in other worlds it was painful and I pretty much died. I at least got 20 laps in, though, and only walked 3 of them. Impressive for me. I came out red-faced, in pain - barely being able to walk - and exhausted for the rest of the day. Otherwise, it was quite enjoyable. *pained smile*

I'll try to post more often, for those of you who care to read this. We'll probably get an update in after my birthday at least, to go over the presents I got! WHEE!

Maddy, You're My Hero!

While some people say that Panic! at the Disco is horrible live, I could agree otherwise. Well, at least when they played in Denver. Now I've just been searching and searching for the songs live from Denver. And guess who could provide me with the said songs? MADDY!!!! That is why Maddy is my hero.

In other news, Lincoln may have burned down by now, for today, as I was leaving school the fire alarms went off. We were all herded out of the school like cattle (sorry actors). I could almost guarantee that it was just the construction workers emitting so much dust from remodeling the foyer (as if it could get any uglier), but wouldn't we all be happy if we could just go to Roosevelt? Hahahaha...no.

And why yes, Alissa's sweater guy does now, in fact wear sweaters. Very soft (yes, I would know *shifty eyes*), cashmere sweaters in a nice hunter green. They're not very warm though. Who wants to venture a guess that he got that on Saturday at Old Navy?

My model is coming along quite nicely now, even though I'm still probably very far behind. I have the stage completely assembled, now I just need to add my set. I'm a nervous wreck about semester tests too. And trust me, I do not make a nervous wreck.

Just Lost Causes

I'm sure not very good at updating this thing everyday. I suppose that's a good thing though, seeing as nothing happens in my life. All last week, since my previous update, I've been semi-busy, though I completely ignored my model. I got some more measurements for that on Friday, but I forgot one, so it'll be a little tough to do it now as well.

Today (which is Saturday), I got to wake up 4 a.m. to sub for a friend's paper route...And I thought it was cold during the day. I was wearing several layers and I was still very cold. I learned while doing this said paper route that we live near a Joe Anderson (YAY! ACROSS THE UNIVERSE), Rich's grandma, and *shudder* Mrs. Wallenberg, a.k.a. Satan. We got done and I went back to bed and slept 'till 10:45, which is nice. I also slept through St. Lucia. OOPS! Oh well. It gets old. I was also supposed to babysit the dogs as mentioned before, but that went down the drain. So we went shopping instead. Here's several highlights of that trip:
  • I got my Christmas/Hanukkah present from Zoey at Aeropostale. I still need to get the second half of her present for her.
  • We met Rich at the mall. (Sorry about my father.)
  • We saw Alissa's Sweater Guy in Old Navy. Probably made my day.
  • We also saw Andrew the Guy In Girl's Pants at Old Navy. Good times...
  • The fact that I was shopping instead of doing my model was a highlight as well.
There really isn't anything else interesting that happened recently. Wish me luck at entertaining myself tonight! ANSWER THE FREAKING PHONE, ALISSA!

Another Tally on the Chalkboard

Today is December 5, for all you non-calender types. Do you know what happens on December 5? Well I'm not entirely sure, but December 5 was supposed to be the day the video for A Beautiful Lie was released. You don't know what A Beautiful Lie is? You don't know me. But was it released? No. I was sorely disappointed, and called Jared several bad names (right, Kaitlyn?), and blamed the whole ordeal on him. Was it his fault? Probably, but there's no proof of that. It made me feel all better to accuse him, though. Since I didn't have anything NEW to watch, I found the video for Your Guardian Angel by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. While this was new to me, I'm assuming it didn't come out December 5. Here's several snapshots that I would like to elaborate on.

This one appears throughout the video. Ronnie...alone...in a dark hallway...with one, not two, but one light bulb that most definitely needs to be changed because the friggin thing keeps flickering on and off. Now who would want to meet Ronnie in a dark hallway? (Put your hand down, Maddy).

This one here gave me a nice round of giggles. Due to the lack of a microphone, Ronnie decided to sing his little heart out to the lonely light bulb. Good thing he's closing his eyes, otherwise that might burn a bit.

Even though I have a lot of fun making fun of this video, it was very good and I love them all. I'm glad Ronnie doesn't have my hair anymore, though. I also sang to my dog. Today I also watched a lot of Underoath videos. They make me feel very claustrophobic. Just go watch them. You'll understand. Turn down your volume if you don't feel like listening to constant screaming.

Today in English, we watched the video version of The Odyssey. As if reading it wasn't enough. I won't go into any detail, for your sakes. But let me tell you, there were at least three sex scenes...not to mention Hermes.

Number of presents for Melanie under the Jon tree: at least 4

This weekend, I have to both babysit two spastic dogs, and do the paper route. Plus work on my model, which I should start working on now.

You're Ever So Inviting.

As you can see, I haven't posted in at least two days. I've been busy as of late with Jon shopping, end of the semester homework, and the rest of my life not on the computer. Although most of the homework was on the good 'ol compy. For not posting since Saturday, I sure don't have much to say.

While sitting in the locker room, waiting for my favorite period of the day to end, I had the insane urge to listen to Underoath. I've never liked Underoath in my life, but I've been a fan of Aaron Gillespie's side project The Almost for awhile. So why I am typing up this post, I'm hoping You're Ever So Inviting by Underoath is downloading. Also, today in Individual/Dual sports, we were playing a hardcore game of basketball when I think...well I don't really know what I did, but I hurt my thumb. And it hurts.

I'm finding it quite hard to remember what happened Sunday and Monday. Is that a sign of Alzheimer's? I think I watched Pictures of Hollis Woods on Sunday night instead of doing homework, though. Yeah, that's pretty much how it went down. It's quite a tearjerker, along with all the Hallmark commercials.

I got myself my own salt shaker, so if any of you people are at my house, just ask for me to show you my newfound talent. Or just start singing circus music.

Tonight, I have to start my model for Play Productions. That is my semester test for that class, which is 15% percent of my grade, so I think you'll be hearing a lot about the evil thing. Maybe I'll create a slideshow of pictures of the thing from start to finish...
Countdown to my birthday: 14 days

Well, I can't think of anything more interesting (more or less) to say, so I'll end this day's session of pointless rambling.

I'm not listening to that...but I wish I was...

P.S. My sweater guy was wearing his striped jacket today! (Where's the freaking sweater?!?)

You're Call Has Been Forwarded to an Automatic...

As I sit here in my house...alone, I think about what a life I've had, or lack thereof. You see at Lincoln the Winter Formal taking place right about now, even with several inches of snow piled up all over the city. Guess who isn't at Winter Formal? MELANIE!!! Zoey's there with Rich as well as Ron and the rest of the posse. Alissa isn't though. But she won't answer her phone. So we're back to me being alone. There is a job application sitting to my left, the computer before me, and homework to my right. I should be doing some of the homework, but instead I have been looking for new bands via PureVolume and iTunes for about the past two hours. I finished both my poster and program for Play Prod. though. That only took four hours...

Not much else took place today. I finally got out of my pajamas around 3:30. I was real motivated, you see. Now I should probably fold the four loads of laundry sitting around my house.
HAPPY DECEMBER FIRST!!!
