If Life Is A Joke, Why Aren't We Laughing?

Ah, sweet boredom.

Honestly, waking up just before 5 in the morning and delivering papers only takes up at least 2 hours of my long 25-hour day. Yes, 25. It sure feels that way. But Melanie, 1 hour more then everyone else isn't that much. Oh, but it is.

Boredom is no one's friend.

Tomorrow could possibly tie as one of the longest days of my life. Tied with what, you may ask? Well that would be tied with the last two weeks of my life. Sure, not being at work is grand, but the video for I Kissed A Girl and every other crappy song on all the music channels I waste my life on gets old after about the 2,500 time. And sure, Michael Ian Black is highly entertaining but after watching I Love The 80's more times than the average
homo sapien, you wish you hadn't lived in the 80's. Even if you didn't live during the 80's.

bore·dom [bawr-duh .
m, bohr-] –noun the state of being bored; tedium; ennui.

Oh, but I forgot to explain myself. Why will tomorrow be one of the longest days of my life? Not because this particular day has 26 hours, but because Breaking Dawn becomes available to my eager hands at 12:01 a.m. August 2nd. And I will be eagerly waiting to attend the Breaking Dawn release party event at my local Barnes And Noble to pick up said novel. With Alissa, Maddy and Kaitlyn at spat camp and Zoey at the lake I will have no one to ease the wait. So I'll be stuck with the above-mentioned life-wasting TV crap. But Melanie, the internet is always available. Well, that would lead me to, as Seth the webmaster describes it, B.D. Countdownitis, on the Twilight website (see, http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/index.html. The Breaking Dawn quotes are also nice). Watching those silly silly milliseconds wind down the hours of my wait. That would be bad. And Twilighting is not good for the brain either.

Oh, the pain.

Last Night's Festivities

Last night at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall several bands came to our quiant little town. These bands are known as; Sing It Loud, The Spill Canvas (our home-town heroes) and Motion City Soundtrack. And THEY ROCKED! Sing It Loud definitely brought stage presence to the empty warehouse, which became not-so-empty when the concert started. The Spill Canvas had the whole mosh rocking and Motion City Soundtrack was LOUD...and amazing. I walked out of there a happy girl, with a poster signed by four out of the five members of Sing It Loud (stupid drummer...Chris...couldn't you have just come out of the backstage area?!) pictures with three of them and a camera full of memories. Plus ringing ears and a nauseated stomach, but what kind of concert is it with out PAIN?!?

Its hard to type out a monologue about a concert, so I'll leave you with some pictures to help illustrate the night for you. Sorry, I didn't get any Motion City...but here's Sing It Loud and The Spill Canvas:

EDIT: pictures weren't going so well, so here's my video of No One Can Touch Us by Sing It Loud...if that works...

EDIT: I think I'll go with the pictures...

You can see in this picture the bassist of SIL (Nate) doing a nice jump in the air. Call me an amazing photographer...

A shot of The Spill Canvas

The concert's got everyone...excited...

Nick Thomas may or may not be going into labor.

Kieren the lead guitarist of Sing It Loud

Well that's enough for now. If you know me, you'll probably see them all eventually...

Favorite Song of the Week

I'm pretty bummed I won't be able to see these guys at Warped...

MY FAVORITE SONG THIS WEEK IS...

Secret Crowds
by: Angels and Airwaves

If I had my own world
I'd fill it with love and desire
My heart is past you admire
And voices of kids out walking, dogs, birds, planes, trees and cars
If I had my own world
I'd love it for all that's inside it
There'd be no more wars death or riots,
there'd be no more faiths,
packed parking lots, guns, bombs sounding off,
If I had my own world
I'd build you an empire
From here to the farmlands
To spread love like violence
If I had my own world
I'd build you an empire
From here to the farmlands
To spread love like violence

Let me feel you carry you higher

Watch our words spread hope like fire
Secret crowds rise up and gather
Hear your voices sing back louder

If I had my own world

I'd show you the life that's inside it
The way that it glows when you find it
The way it survives with it's familys, friends or arch enemys
Let's make this the new world
I swear you can go if you'd want to
I know that you have that within you
Inventing the first great musical, God's greatest miracle
If I had my own world
I'd build you an empire
From here to the farmlands
To spread love like violence
If I had my own world
I'd build you an empire
From here to the farmlands
To spread love like violence

Let me feel you carry you higher

Watch our words spread hope like fire
Secret crowds rise up and gather
Hear your voices sing back louder

Let me feel you carry you higher

Watch our words spread hope like fire
Secret crowds rise up and gather
Hear your voices sing back louder

Let me feel you carry you higher

Watch our words spread hope like fire
Secret crowds rise up and gather
Hear your voices sing back louder
Let me feel you carry you higher
Watch our words spread hope like fire
Secret crowds rise up and gather
Hear your voices sing back louder

Wow, This Puppy Chow Tastes Like House...

Sorry, I've been lacking in the posting category. Not that anything interesting happens. Its summer...duh. I've been making attempts to get out of my house as of late seeing as I'm either indoors or at work. Both which lack in a social life. Well, do to loss of brain matter I've begun talking to the horses...but never mind that.

I took down the Honda Civic Tour widget, some of you may have noticed. I figured since that's over and we've come and gone from the concert I had better get over it. And going to Warped Tour this summer doesn't look very promising...

My mother is going through her second childhood right now. She bought a spiffy red mo-ped. Or scooter. Whatever they're called. And she actually cut several inches off her hair after having it the same for the past several YEARS. Not that I noticed...

In other news, The Academy Is... has a new single out from their new album Fast Times At Barrington High! I'm listening to it right now, but I'm not quite sure if I like it that much yet. It's very not-them. You will all have to listen to it and decide for yourselves though.

Breaking Dawn comes out in two weeks! I'm obsessing over the Twilight series right now and hyperventilating over the movie. Super excited, that's all I've gotta say.

Well, that's enough for today. I unfortunately had to do maintenance at camp for two hours this morning and now it's time to sleep...except not really. New Moon here I come!

P.S. 50 mosquito bites on each leg SUCKS.
