See What I Can Do!

**This will probably be a very unusual thing for me to post twice in a day, but this was just too exciting for me NOT to blog about**

So we went to Buffalo Wild Wings, as mentioned in the previous post from today. While my parents and my mom's friend were downing their beers, I decided to accomplish what I've always wanted to do. I don't know where exactly I heard of balancing a salt shaker, but it came up there. AND I MANAGED TO DO IT! After about a half an hour of painstakingly balancing the salt shaker, and 20 years or so of bad luck from spilling the salt so many times, I GOT THE FREAKING SALT SHAKER TO BALANCE!

Then some guy came over, was amazed by my trick and picked it up. I was like "WTF?!? That took me FOREVER!" BUT THEN I DID IT AGAIN! The people on the other side of the ledge of where I was balancing it were pretty impressed with me, as were my parents and friend. The waiter thought it was "messed up." They didn't think it was possible. Oh, I showed them! After the little 'picking up of the salt shaker' incident, I left a note saying:

Property of Melanie.
DO NOT TOUCH!

Hopefully the next time we take a trip to Buffalo Wild Wings the salt shaker will still be standing, with a protective plexiglass case around it with a plaque congratulating the mysterious Melanie.

^ This above picture is from the internet. We didn't have a freaking camera to take a picture of my amazing accomplishment.

Oh, the food was good too.

Are You Sure You're Sure? ...Are You?

My sweater guy was wearing his striped zip-up jacket today! Yay! These are the little things (*coughcoughobsessionscoughcough*) that make my freshman year so much more enjoyable. God forbid I'd see the guy even once a day now, though.

Today in Individual Dual Sports, we were supposed to take our long put-off test over Lawn Games and Archery. Guess what we did? Well, I'll go into that in a couple of sentences, but we did not take a test... For the other gym classes in that period, they brought in a professional karate/tae kwan do/self defense/a bunch of other things he rattled off teacher and we got to learn some stuff from him. Well, it was that or spending some quality bonding time with the sweaty, noisy, smelly and just downright hellish weight room. Like I can't already not move any of my appendages from the last two days of pure agony. So back to today's lesson... I sure wouldn't want to meet me in a dark alley around now. I could knock you all down with my butterfly kick. K/O-ed!!! I've pretty much got blocking down and we learned a few fighting techniques as well. I hope I don't have a grudge against any of you people...

In English we watched the video version of the last several chapters of the Odyssey that we read. At least 15 minutes of the movie was spent at this big orgy-fest. Nothing better than a bunch of half-naked (and probably married) men spending a good 5 years with a freakin' witch. Not to mention we were watching this whole thing with MRS. WALLENBERG. Blach. And talk about awkward...

We're going to Buffalo Wild Wings tonight, probably to celebrate my dad's new job change. That's, what, four now? Oh well. This one's at some college, but we'll only have to pay 10% of tuition if I end up going there. Or get forced to go there. Not like I want to get rid of the 'rents and child anyway. Not to mention you people...If only I knew who most of you were.

I have Rich's scarf for the whole weekend now too! He knows I have it, though. I gave it back this morning as well, but...

a.) Ignore or b.) Stand up For (What They Say)

Today in gym, we continued my own personal torture by elaborating on our unit in the weight room. For those of you who know me, you understand that I can totally bench press 3 large men on each side of a 200 pound bar. For those of you who don't, my arms have the circumference of a pencil and my legs can be related to a chicken's. I struggled on all of the sets, especially the military thing. We didn't even put weights on it, I could barely lift the 40 lb. bar. I got the first couple (in pain, of course), but made the mistake of letting it go. Props to Blaine and Matt for lifting it for me at the very end, though. It helps when you don't have a class that stops and star- well...laughs.

In other news, I have new curtains, Zoey is no longer sick, we had our first semi-major snowfall here in XXXXX XXXXX, (and they're predicting 6-8 inches for Saturday), and I stole Richie's scarf. It's very warm, actually. It makes my neck sweat. (Rich, if you're reading this, I'm sorry). I have posted a few pictures to add visuals. This is my first time trying to post pictures, so if it doesn't work, I'll try to make it look decent.

We Love You, Goodnight

So this is my blog. Made for prolix rambling, the emo-ness all bottled up in a small, dark phial being spilled out in a large, seeping, bloody wrist-cut-by-a-razor kind of way, the traumatic events of high school typed onto the page, and where all the juicy gossip (yeah, right) is...juiced out onto the web. There's a few things you need to know first.
1. If you're one in my (what shall we call it, a posse?), you'll understand the strange things I say. If you laughed at posse, then consider yourself in the group. If not, go away you pedophile.

3. Leave comments. They will make my happy. Or infinitely sad. Remember, treat people the way you want to be, or don't say anything at all. Something along those lines...

4. Ignore my ongoing obsessions if they bother you. Eventually you won't even notice. *wink*

I couldn't think of anything else to write. Those sound more like rules than guidelines. Or "a few things you need to know first." Oh well. Have fun and enjoy yourself here as much as I probably will blogging about...things...
