We Might As Well Be Blind If Seeing Is Believing

...this parable is misleading. Another Envy On The Coast gem for you.

I have a lovely little contest for you today on this fine Friday afternoon! If I was running a business, I would have told you this about a month ago to get the hype up. Alas, you are just reading a simple blog. Nothing to sell here. But a little background first. I love music videos. Who doesn't? I couldn't tell you, but I have 59 music videos on my iPod. And I love them all, so today I am spreading the love. Following this paragraph you will see 15 freeze frames from 15 different videos from my iPod. It is your job to guess what the song the video is for, and what artist each respective video belongs to. You do not have to guess both at the same time if you don't want to, or don't know. And before I said there wouldn't be a prize...and I wasn't lying. I don't know what I can give you. Like I said, I'm not selling anything here. Maybe I'll come up with something. I guest post on my quaint little blog here. That's not much, but that's about all I can give you. And that's assuming that the winner is someone I know. I will define a winner by however I feel most fit in the end. Good luck!

It Was A Thereputic Chain of Events

So, this afternoon upon leaving school I accidentally left my brand new copy of Viva La Vida by Coldplay and my beloved copy of Lost In The Sound of Seperation (Underoath) on top of my car. And drove away. So I'm hoping they're shattered somewhere around the school grounds for me to retrieve tomorrow. I'm positive most of you already know this, and are probably getting annoyed already, but it deeply saddens me. Such a waste...

Favorite Song Of The Week

Well, I was going to post Family Force 5's Fever but just by looking at the lyrics I can tell everyone will be bored instantly. A lot of repition. Of the word 'fever.' Its a great song and you should all love it. But for something more creative that most of you probably haven't heard...

MY FAVORITE SONG THIS WEEK IS...

Hotel Aquarium
by: Falling Up

Is this another complication I face?
Here is the mistake, coming back to catch me.

To you, to you I hold.

Now I know that I'm alive.
All the loneliness is filled by you inside.
And as I finally breathe the air, you open up my eyes.
Now I'm alive.

A lesson in breathing is never using control.
Seconds from this place, I've never been so unsure.

To the heights, to the heights, there is hope.
It's been waiting all along.
To the heights, to the heights, there is hope.
Waiting.

But really. Family Force 5, Remedy Drive and Underoath's album are on this list. Thats just a few too many...

Hardkore Tambourine

Well, I don't know what to tell you. I've actually been avoiding this post lately. (It's the 80th, by the way). I sat with my internet open on the "Create New Page" page for a couple of hours last night. Obviously I never accomplished anything. Well we'll start from the last post and work our way up. Shall we? We shall.

Remedy Drive. They should really be the basis of most of my posts, they're very much deserving of it. But alas, they aren't THAT interesting Melanie...(they are, but we don't need to go there). The album is great and amazing live, as predicted. I met them all at LifeLight and they are friendly and gregarious (take that Klawonn!), as they were last time. I was just more knowledgeable as to what their names are.

Underoath. *cough* Lost In The Sound Of Separation...despite the general lack of Aaron Gillespie (other than his preeminent drumming skillz) it pretty much makes you want to rip off your face and stick your skull in acid bath. In a good way. I don't know what else to say, the love of Underoath only applies to a select few, so most of you probably aren't reading this at all.

HEY COME BACK!
You should really leave a comment if you came back. Wow. That was so lame. Moving on... (But really, I like comments).

LifeLight. Despite my mysterious, cadaverous sickness, it was a blasty-blast. The Family Force 5 mosh left me in a less-than-appealing state, 'specially after dry heaving...twice. Well, thats what you get for attempting to leave during Luv Addict. Seeing FF5 twice left me in a state of adoration, though. Their album Dance Or Die is currently floating around at the top of my playlists. I also got to see Remedy Drive twice. They were great, I really don't want to describe with words. Or feelings. I'm just so glad I got to see one of my most favorite bands again. They should be coming back to Sioux Falls again in the near future too! I'll be there!

Well, in school, I'm maintaining my 4.0 GPA as far as I know and such. It's going well, I guess. I sometimes feel bad though, learning and acing stuff and things just comes so easy for me. But I guess that makes up for my complete lack of being capable of doing anything else. Like boys...or dancing...like having a date at winter formal. *glare* You know who you are. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, just pity me, please...

Exactly.

Well I'd rather not talk about school, seeing as most of you reading my words here attend to the same pit of hell I do. And if you don't, I'm sure you don't want to here about anything miserable such as high school. Exactly.

But music, see, spreads the joy. Along with bashing your head against a SmartBoard and needing more coffee (*coughcoughPsychologycoughcough*).

YAY REMEDY DRIVE!!! Daylight has come! AND IT ROCKS MY WORLD!!! And it should yours too! I'm so excited to see them at LifeLight in a couple of days (AAAHHHH!). Hopefully knowing the songs by the deepest part of my heart will make it even more enjoyable. I'm not quite sure how...but it will! Somehow! Stand Up and All Along are most definitely amazing. Along with Daylight, Hope, What Happens (At The End), Something Made To Last, Belong With You, Heartbeat, Get To Know You, The Sunshine Above The Weather and Valuable. Exactly.

I'm pretty much as equally, if not even more excited for Lost In The Sound Of Seperation, to be delivered September 2nd from Underøath. Hand delivered? I wish. But still. It's exciting stuff. I've only heard the Purevolume version of Desperate Times, Desperate Measures but that song has motivated me to buy the album the day it's released. Along with my obsessive compulsive need to have physical copies of CD's. And seeing as I already have two of Underøath's... Exactly. I sure wish they were going to be at LifeLight. Maybe next year? As long as I see Remedy Drive's shows (yes, plural. AAAHHHH!) I'll be good. Not to mention Switchfoot and Family Force 5.

But enough chatter from me, don't you have something better to do? Exactly.

Pretty Harmless As Far As Super Villians Go

I PASSED MY DRIVER'S TEST!!! I'm SOOO happy! So now, I'm officially done with driver's ed, and you won't have to hear about it ever again. And I (hopefully) won't have to drive that silly driver's ed car, or see our instructor ever again. That would make my life.

In other news, while one half of South Dakota was being struck with 6 tornado touch-downs, the other side got up to 48" of snow. That's the size of a small child, if you didn't know. This little tidbit leads into the fact that I'M FINALLY DONE WITH MY GLOBAL WARMING SPEECH. I don't think I did too shabby, 230/250 is good enough for me. And Ms. Arbogast said that I'm in her "top three" best speeches. All is well. Now all I need to do is make a catapult and do my oral interp. presentation, and hopefully all the crappy end-of-the-year projects will be over with. God, I can't wait until summer.

Piano recital this afternoon. Wish me luck, so I don't make an 88-key fool of myself.

Well, to add something interesting...

I Think I Deserve Some Short Posts

Hm. Now I know why I didn't have the song "Returning Empty Handed" by Underoath, while I had all the others.

No clean vocals. Or, excuse me, about 15 seconds of Aaron Gillespie.

I Like The Voice In My Head...

Well, it's been a good week in my life for music. I actually have TWO favorite songs this week. And I don't think you need lyrics and band pictures to enjoy them. So, they are...

- Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape by UnderOATH from their album
They're Only Chasing Safety
-
Between You and I by Every Avenue from their NEW album Shh. Just Go With It

Go check 'em out. You'll probably enjoy them.

So I just got back from driving around...and right turns and yield signs can go jump into the center of the busiest intersection. Another couple tally marks to add to the number of times I've almost killed myself and others while behind the wheel.

Mrs. Wallenberg is officially out to get me. No lie. We (we being Zoey, Rich, Mary, Jake and myself), were standing at my locker, comparing the graffiti on it to Mrs. Wallenberg's room/Satan herself. (It says "hell," by the way, if you don't know me). When over my shoulder, she appears in her sunny yellow sweater and wants to know what we were going to finish that conversation with. Several "uh" and "um"'s in response. When she leaves, we burst out into frightened, nervous giggles.

On top of that, since Zoey was sick today, I waited for my dad to come in a very dark Little Theater with three guys for an hour. Wanna know what we talked about? I'll never tell.

Favorite Song of the Week

What the heck. I'm bored. I'll just try this out today. Maybe I'll set a specific day for it. Maybe I'll surprise you. You never know with me. *shifty eyes*

MY FAVORITE SONG THIS WEEK IS...
It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door
by: UnderOATH

I've been up at this all night long
I've been drowning in my sleep
I've prayed for your safe place
And its time for us to leave

Time is running, its running on empty and the gas is running out
I've decided that tonight is the night
That I let love aside
Full speed ahead this seems to be the place
I've seen this once before
Planned perfection sought in my dreams
Hoping this would take you home

My knuckles have turned to white
There's no turning back tonight
Kiss me one last time

Around this turn where the cross will cast your shadow
The people will all gather
To remember such a day
Where the flames grew as high as trees
And the world stopped
It stopped for you and me

My knuckles have turned to white
There's no turning back tonight
Kiss me one last time
(Shut your eyes)
My knuckles have turned to white
There's no turning back tonight
(So hold on tight)
Kiss me one last time
(Shut your...)

I will now bring new meaning to the word alone
Endless nights of dreaming of life
And the days we should have spent here

Drowning in my sleep I'm drowning in my sleep
Drowning in my sleep I'm drowning in my sleep
(x6)

Glass shatters and comes to a halt
I thought we'd be there by now
I thought it would be so much quicker than this

Pain has never been so brilliant
I made sure you were buckled in
Now you can walk hand in hand
Hand in hand with Him

My knuckles have turned to white
There's no turning back tonight
Kiss me one last time
(Shut your eyes)
My knuckles have turned to white
There's no turning back tonight
(So hold on tight)
Kiss me one last time
(Shut your...)

Another Tally on the Chalkboard

Today is December 5, for all you non-calender types. Do you know what happens on December 5? Well I'm not entirely sure, but December 5 was supposed to be the day the video for A Beautiful Lie was released. You don't know what A Beautiful Lie is? You don't know me. But was it released? No. I was sorely disappointed, and called Jared several bad names (right, Kaitlyn?), and blamed the whole ordeal on him. Was it his fault? Probably, but there's no proof of that. It made me feel all better to accuse him, though. Since I didn't have anything NEW to watch, I found the video for Your Guardian Angel by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. While this was new to me, I'm assuming it didn't come out December 5. Here's several snapshots that I would like to elaborate on.

This one appears throughout the video. Ronnie...alone...in a dark hallway...with one, not two, but one light bulb that most definitely needs to be changed because the friggin thing keeps flickering on and off. Now who would want to meet Ronnie in a dark hallway? (Put your hand down, Maddy).

This one here gave me a nice round of giggles. Due to the lack of a microphone, Ronnie decided to sing his little heart out to the lonely light bulb. Good thing he's closing his eyes, otherwise that might burn a bit.

Even though I have a lot of fun making fun of this video, it was very good and I love them all. I'm glad Ronnie doesn't have my hair anymore, though. I also sang to my dog. Today I also watched a lot of Underoath videos. They make me feel very claustrophobic. Just go watch them. You'll understand. Turn down your volume if you don't feel like listening to constant screaming.

Today in English, we watched the video version of The Odyssey. As if reading it wasn't enough. I won't go into any detail, for your sakes. But let me tell you, there were at least three sex scenes...not to mention Hermes.

You're Ever So Inviting.

As you can see, I haven't posted in at least two days. I've been busy as of late with Jon shopping, end of the semester homework, and the rest of my life not on the computer. Although most of the homework was on the good 'ol compy. For not posting since Saturday, I sure don't have much to say.

While sitting in the locker room, waiting for my favorite period of the day to end, I had the insane urge to listen to Underoath. I've never liked Underoath in my life, but I've been a fan of Aaron Gillespie's side project The Almost for awhile. So why I am typing up this post, I'm hoping You're Ever So Inviting by Underoath is downloading. Also, today in Individual/Dual sports, we were playing a hardcore game of basketball when I think...well I don't really know what I did, but I hurt my thumb. And it hurts.

I'm finding it quite hard to remember what happened Sunday and Monday. Is that a sign of Alzheimer's? I think I watched Pictures of Hollis Woods on Sunday night instead of doing homework, though. Yeah, that's pretty much how it went down. It's quite a tearjerker, along with all the Hallmark commercials.

I got myself my own salt shaker, so if any of you people are at my house, just ask for me to show you my newfound talent. Or just start singing circus music.

Tonight, I have to start my model for Play Productions. That is my semester test for that class, which is 15% percent of my grade, so I think you'll be hearing a lot about the evil thing. Maybe I'll create a slideshow of pictures of the thing from start to finish...
Countdown to my birthday: 14 days

Well, I can't think of anything more interesting (more or less) to say, so I'll end this day's session of pointless rambling.

I'm not listening to that...but I wish I was...

P.S. My sweater guy was wearing his striped jacket today! (Where's the freaking sweater?!?)
